Agra man hangs himself, live streams suicide on FB. Thousands watch but nobody raises alarm

A man from Agra hanged himself Wednesday and live streamed his suicide on Facebook.

News reports Thursday said some 2,750 people watched the suicide but nobody called the authorities or his family to try and stop him.

The man was identifed as Munna Kumar, with the reports saying he had been depressed because he had been unable to get into the army despite five attempts.

The reports added that Kumar left a six-page suicide note.

The reports quoted Kumar's family as saying Munna had thought of Bhagat Singh as an inspiration.

And that his father had recently set up a grocery store for him to help him overcome his depression.
