
A year after Chinese troops intruded in the Doklam region, the soldiers from the People's Liberation Army again infringed around the 300-400 metres inside the Demchok sector of eastern Ladakh.
Demchok which stretches from eastern Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh is one of the 23 "disputed and sensitive areas" identified on the Line of Actual Control.
The region witnesses frequent "transgressions and troop faceoffs" between the two armies.
Indian and China share a border of 4,057 km along the Line of Actual Control.
The PLA army intruded and placed around five tents in the region. The security establishments confirmed on Monday that three of those tents were removed in the Cherdong- Nerlong Nallan area after the armies of the two sides held talks.
The two other tents with some Chinese troops are still present in the region.
A media report cited sources as saying that the Chinese military intruded in the Indian territory in the garb of nomads with cattle in tow in July.
According to media reports, over 170 transgressions have been recorded by the Chinese Army in 2018. While in 2016, the number was 273 and in 2017 a total of 426 such incidents were reported.
