23 Air India flights delayed at Delhi's IGI Airport due to technical glitch

Hundreds of fliers were stranded atDelhi's IGI airport on Saturday afternoon as nearly two dozen Air India flights got delayed after a technical glitch in the check-in software hampered the operations, an airline spokesperson said.

The software malfunction was rectified after around 15-30 minutes, but it affected operations for around an hour and a half, from 1 pm to 2:30 pm when check-in and other services were handled manually.

The departure timings of as many as 23 flights were affected and the delays owing to the software malfunction stretched from 15-30 minutes, the spokesperson said.

Recently, flight operations were affected at New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI)on Friday due to the severe heat — the temperature touched 44.9 degrees Celsius in Palam.

Due to heatwave conditions, services were delayed in the afternoon for nearly three hours as authorities waited for the sun to lower.
