20 aircraft including AN-32 transport and fighter planes like Mirage 2000, Jaguar, Sukhoi 30 MKI will make a touchdown on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway on October 24.
The exercise will commence with an impressive short-landing by the C-130 which on its landing roll itself and start offloading the Garud Commandos and their vehicle. Immediately on disembarking from the C-130, the Commandos will take up position on either side of the airstrip to cordon it off for the fighter operations.
This will be followed by 3 Jaguar deep penetration strike aircraft, two formations of three aircraft each of Mirages and two formations of three aircraft each of Sukhoi-30. All fifteen fighter aircraft will carry out a roller/touch and go manoeuvre on the expressway. The C-130 will then return for another short landing to extricate the Garud Commandos.
C130 lands at 10am and from10:15am onwards, 25 minutes blocks are given for various formations. All timings are subject to weather conditions
A team of Senior IAF Officials headed by Air Marshal AS Butola, VM,VSM, Senior Air Staff Officer HQ CAC, IAF Allahabad, Will be present to oversee the operations. While the operation is being conducted under the aegis of HQ Central Air Command, Bamrauli Allahabad, Air Force Station Bakshi Ka Talab Station Commander, Gp Capt J Suares, VM and his team, are responsible for the overall control and coordination of the exercise.
