Thesecurity forces killed twounidentified terrorists in an overnight encounter in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir, the Army said on Tuesday morning.
Followinginformation about the presence of terrorists in the area, the security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation in Wanipora area of Shopian yesterday evening, anArmy officer said.
The search operations soon turned into an encounter when theterrorists opened fire at the security forces.
"Two terrorists have been killed so far and the operation is still in progress," the officersaid.
The bodies of the two terrorists recovered but the third one is still alive and present at the house. He started firing again a few minutes back, saidInspector general of police (Kashmir) Muneer Khan.
