KCR and Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan to meet in Trivandrum today, discuss 'contemporary politics'
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) will be heading to the capital city of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram, on Monday to meet his counterpart Pinarayi Vijayan.
The two chief ministers are expected to meet at around 6pm today and discuss contemporary politics in the wake of the ongoing Lok Sabha polls.
"Rao will meet Chief Minister of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday at 6 pm. In view of the parliament elections, both the CMs will discuss contemporary politics," an official release said.
Before returning to Hyderabad, Rao will be paying a visit to Rameswaram and Srirangam temples.
The TRS chief has been a vocal proponent of a non-BJP, non-Congress federal front at the Centre.
Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan had previously said that Congress chief Rahul Gandhi contesting from Wayanad means that he is fighting against the Left and not the BJP.
There was no need to attach any special importance to the Congress president contesting from the state and Gandhi was just one among the 20 candidates of the opposition UDF, who are trying their luck from Kerala, he said.
"If Gandhi's fight is against the BJP, he should have contested against the saffron party. In Kerala, the fight is between LDF and UDF in the elections," Vijayan said recently.
