Tripura Lok Sabha Elections 2024:Tripura voted in first of two phases of teh Lok Sabha elections on Friday (Apr 19). The northeast Indian will hold election for two parliamentary seats in two phases, featuring an electoral battle between the ruling BJP-led NDA and Congress and CPI (M) of the INDIA bloc.

The northeast Indian state's regional party, TIPRA Motha, is in alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Currently, BJP holds both the Lok Sabha seats in Tripura, which the party won with a thumping majority.

However, the BJP has decided to field new nominees in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

They're fielding Biplab Kumar Dev, Tripura's former chief minister, and TIPRA Motha's Maharani Kriti Singh Debbarma.

Tripura Lok Sabha elections 2024: List of Constituencies

There are two Lok Sabha constituencies in Tripura: Tripura East and Tripura West.

In the Lok Sabha Elections 2019, Rebati Tripura and Pratima Bhoumik, both BJP candidates, won from their respective constituencies.

Bhoumik was appointed Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment of India, becomingthe first-ever resident of Tripura to become a minister in the union cabinet.
