Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Schedule and Date: The Elections in the Indian Union Territory (UT) of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu are takingplace during the third phase,which is on May 7, according to the Election Commission of India (ECI).There are two Lok Sabha seats in this UT.

The Union Territories (previously) of Daman and Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli became a single union territory on January 26, 2020, after 'The Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu (Merger of Union Territories) Bill, 2019' was passed. The merger was done to better manage the UTs. However, both regions maintain separate budgets and have separate secretaries.

Two national parties, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress, are vying for domination in the UT.

Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu Lok Sabha Elections 2024 headto pollson May 7, during Phase 3 of the general elections. Nationwide, the polls will be held in seven phases.

Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu are current Lok Sabha MPs

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Independent candidate Mohanbhai Sanjibhai Delkar won the seat with 90,421 votes in Dadra and Nagar Haveli. BJP candidate Lalubhai Patel had won the Daman and Diu seat with 37,597 votes.

As of now, the BJP-led NDA alliance has Kalaben Delkar from Dadra and Nagar Haveli.

In Daman and Diu, the BJP has fielded Lalubhai Patel and the Congress has fielded Ketan Dayabhai Patel.

Dadra and Nagar Haveli election history

During earlier Lok Sabha elections in Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Congress party won the 1971, 1977, and 1980 elections. In the 1984 & 1989 elections, the Congress lost the seat to an independent candidate. However, in the 1991 elections, the Congress regained the seat.

In 1996 Congress and 1998 they won the elections. In 1999, again this seat went to an independent candidate. In the 2004 elections candidate from the Bharatiya Navshakti Party (BNP), Mohanbhai Delkar won the election. The BJP won this seat in 2009 and 2014 during Narendra Modi’s regime.
