REVEALED! Michail Antonio claims what Jurgen Klopp told Mo Salah during touchline spat

West Ham United striker Michail Antonio has revealed what was said by Jurgen Klopp towards Mohamed Salah during the spat between two of Liverpool's finest. Antonio said the West Ham players had been talking about the touchline spat and came up with their own versions of the event.

Speaking on theFootballer’s Football Podcast,Antonio said Klopp didn't like Mo airing him dry when he was bringing the right-winger onto the match to grind out a win.

"Basically - this is not inside information, nobody has told me anything - but what I have heard is what the boys have been talking about on the training ground," said Antonio.

"As the [Liverpool] players come on, Klopp always gives them a big hug and says 'good luck', but when Mo came on he walked in a different direction and was doing his shinpads and stuff like that. Klopp has put his hand out to him and his hand was there for a bit and as Mo stopped doing what he was doing, he just slapped his [Klopp's] hand as a high five," revealed the West Ham striker.

Antonio, who scored the second goal for West Ham to equalise the tie, added that the Liverpool gaffer was a bit amused with the cold attitude displayed by Mo.

"Obviously Klopp didn’t like that and he was like, ‘Do you want to sit back down?’, basically saying, 'do you want to go on?'. And nobody has told me what Mo said back."

What actually happened?

Playing away from home at the London Stadium, Liverpool once again went a goal down as Jarrod Bowen scored in the 43rd minute. However, courtesy of a goal from Andy Robertson and an own goal from Alphonse Areola, the Merseyside Reds managed to steal the advantage.

Just when it looked like Klopp's men would walk away with a win, Antonio scored in the 77th minute to bring the hosts back into the contest. It was only after the equaliser that Klopp thought of bringing Salah on as the situation escalated between the duo.

Speaking to the reporters about the incident after the match, Salah said: "There is going to be fire today if I speak."

Klopp was also asked the same thing to which he said: "We spoke about that in the dressing room and it's done for me, that's all."

Liverpool are currently third on the points table with 75 points in 35games and three games left in the season. Their rivals in the title race are Arsenal and Manchester City who have the upper hand after Reds only secured five points in last five matches.
