Premier League: Arne Slot signs as new Liverpool manager to replace Jurgen Klopp at Anfield

Liverpool are already preparing for the 2024-25 Premier League season as the club sets its sights on gloryonce more. The Merseyside side club hassigned Arne Slot as their new managerwiththe documents signed on Friday (May 17) and the Dutch gaffer confirming the news. Slot will replace Jurgen Klopp at the helm of the Anfield clubwiththe German gafferhaving announcedhis departure in February.

Slot signs for Liverpool done deal

Liverpool have completed the documentation to sign Slotwhowill become the club’s new manager for the 2024-25 season. The deal is now awaiting official confirmationwitha few of Slot’s backroom team staff awaiting work permits from the British government.

Slot's arrival will end the speculation of him getting the job, with Rubin Amiron of Sporting Lisbonalsoon the target list before the Reds.

“Arne Slot formally signs his contract as the new Liverpool head coach today, alldocuments are in place. The official announcement will follow with #LFC desired timing. Work permit still pending for some of his staff membersandthen it will be all sealed,” read a statement on Fabrizio Romano’s X handle.

Slot will replace the entire backroom staff and bring his ownset ofcoaches from the previous clubFeyenoord. The terms of the dealare not yet disclosed, but Slot will sign a multi-year contract to take charge of the side.

Meanwhile, current boss Klopp will bid farewell on Sunday (May 19) when Liverpool host Wolves at Anfield. Klopp will end his nearly nine-year stay at the club where he won all the domestic and European honourswith the side.He took charge of the Liverpool side in October 2015 when Brendon Rodgers was sacked by the Reds.

Klopp won the Champions League with Liverpool in 2019and followed that with a Premier League title in2020along with theClub World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup.He won the missing piece in the puzzle and completed the set with FA Cup and League Cup wins.
