Euro 2024, Spain vs France: Mbappe assist, Yamal curler highlight supercharged first half - WATCH

Kylian Mbappe played without the face mask in Euro 2024 semifinal against three-time champion Spain and immediately had an impact. The French captain's assist in the eight minute to Kolo Muani led to a Les Blues goal early in the game.

Ousmane Dembele gave a pass to Mbappe who took it deep in the Spanish territoryleft of the box. He then just chipped it over to Muani standing just in front of the goal post. Muani then headed the ball in as France took a 1-0 lead. Have a look at the goal below:

Rattled by the early goal, Spain got into charged up mode almost instantly, making several attempts to equalise the score. The moment came soon about 12 minute later with Lamine Yamal netting the equaliser for Spain.

The 16-year-old received a pass about 25 yards from the goalpost. Standing right side nearthe box, he paused for moment before kicking a stunning curler in the top left corner. Have a look at the goal here:

Four minutes later, Yamal was again in action as he slipped a pass to Dani Olmo. Olmo immediately passed to Nava who then crossed it back towards Olmo who touched it with enough delicacy towards the goal.

France's Kounde, however, touched the ball in the end before it went in but the referees gave it to Olmo.

France could not scoreanother equaliser in the remaining time of the first 45 minutes and trailed 2-1 at the half-time.

Overall, both team went neck-to-neck in the first half with Spain keeping 56 percent possession of the ball while France going with 44 percent.

The Spanish team made five shots on target and converted two of them into goals while France scored once in their three attempts on the target.

As for fouls, Spain, with six fouls,were one ahead than France in the first half and received a yellow card as well.
