Netflix released the second trailer of Sandra Bullock starrer ‘Bird Box’, its adaptation of Josh Malerman’s post-apocalyptic thriller novel.
The film stars Sandra Bullock as a mother who must fight for her life and that of her children as they navigate a dystopian world where people are affected by a supernatural threat.
The Netflix film is directed by Susanne Bier with a screenplay by Eric Heisserer. It also has Trevante Rhodes, John Malkovich, Sarah Paulson and Jackie Weaver in supporting roles.
The trailer opens with Trevante Rhodes’ character who recounts having fun as a child as he would take a boat to the lake. He says: “There was love, there was family,” he says. “It was a wonderful time.” The happy scenes are then quickly replaced with those of horror and disruption.
Sandra’s character says: “We were just driving, and then she saw something.”
An explanation is offered by Lil Rel Howery’s character who says: “This ain’t no virus or chemical attack, it was real evil. If you see it, it takes on a form of your worst fears.”
