Varun Dhawan takes on wage gap issue, tells Alia Bhatt to hike her fees, as she takes little money

Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt share a lot in common. From making their Bollywood debut in the same film to becoming a loved couple on screen, Varun and Alia have become favourites of many Hindi film lovers, in a short span of time. 

Now, it is heard that Varun recently told Alia that she should hike her fees as she is doing great work and charges very little. In an interview recently, Varun opened up on this matter and said, “Why has it taken the trade and the industry as a whole until a Raazi to realise that Alia Bhatt is a big star. Be it Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and even 2 States, were all hits and Alia Bhatt was just as responsible for its success as I was or Arjun was (Arjun Kapoor was the male lead in 2 States).”

On what he has told her in context with her fees, Varun revealed that he told Alia to hike fees. He said, “I would always tell Alia, what are you doing? You take very little money. Are you stupid? Increase your price.”

Bollywood like any other entertainment industrty of the world has been a battleground for stars to fight for wage gap issues.
