Varun Dhawan reveals 'Kalank' failure hit him hard

As Varun turned 32 recently, he spoke of the film’s rejection and how it has affected him. He shared a video on YouTube in which he could be heard having a good time in Thailand to celebrate his birthday with friends while he pondered over at the failure of ‘Kalank’ and said, “My 32nd birthday... But I am going to tell you how it all went down. I was a little down because my latest release did not go the way I thought it would and it did hit me a little hard, I will be very honest. I didn't know how to react to it. Lot of people told me, 'don't show it'. I don't know how to behave like that. Failures are a part of life."

He said it was an impromptu scene for him as his friends asked him to pack his bags and leave with them for Thailand where they would just unwind and have a good time.

Varun Dhawan essayed the role of Zafar in the film and Alia Bhatt played his love interest. Even though Varun was praised for his performance, the film received mixed reviews from the critics and did not do well commercially.
