
The second season of the much-awaited show 'Sacred Games' is ready to start streaming on Netflix this Independence Day.
Netflix India confirmed the news in a tweet on Tuesday, "Calendar nikalo bhaiyo aur behno. #SacredGames2 ka release date ayela hai!" (Mark your calendars, the release date of #SacredGames2 is here!) The account also shared a link to the trailer in the tweet.
Actor Saif Ali Khan will return to his character Sartaj Singh and will be seen embarking on a journey of self-discovery in this season.
Meanwhile, Nawazuddin Siddiqui's Ganesh Gaitonde will try and re-establish his position as king with a new cartel in a faraway land.
The new characters joining this season of the web series are Kalki Koechlin as Batya Abelman and Ranvir Shorey as Shahid Khan who are ready to stun audience by adding their own charm and twists to the story.
The two-minute-ten-second trailer shows the no-nonsense cop Sartaj Singhconnecting the dots to spot and find crime lord Gaitonde.
Vikramaditya Motwane, who turns showrunner with the second season, said in a statement, "We're extremely excited to finally be able to share with the fans of 'Sacred Games' what they've all been waiting for with bated breath - the date of its release on Netflix."
"This season is bigger, more compelling, and totally unexpected. Be prepared to discover a different side to each character as we take the audience on a tremendous journey, and address questions left unanswered last season" he added.
