Kangana Ranaut's slap incident has garnered a wide range of reactions from netizens, her co-stars, and Bollywood celebrities among others. Recently, Ranaut's Tanu Weds Manu co-star and her old friend Swara Bhaskarreacted to the shocking incident that occurred atChandigarh airport.

Addressing the incident of Kangana getting slapped by a CISF constable, the Raanjhanaa actress slammed the violence. But, she had her point to put forward.

In an interview with Connect Cine, Swara said, “Anybody who is a reasonable person will say that whatever happened with Kangana was wrong.

She added, “Kangana just got slapped–and even that should not have happened–but at least she is alive, and has her security around. In this country, people have lost their lives, they’ve been lynched to death, shot dead in a train by a security personnel, in riots, security personnel have been recorded beating up people. Jo log ye saare acts ko justify kar rahe hai, woh phir aake Kangana ke case pe hume mat sikhao.”

However, Bhaskar called out Kangana for using her social media to justify violence, mentioning how the Queen actress defended the infamous Oscar moment when Will Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock on the Oscars stage in 2022.

Bhaskar and Kangana had worked together in the blockbuster film Tanu Weds Manu and its sequel, Tanu Weds Manu Returns. However, things between them turned sour due to their different ideologies, and Kangana's harsh comments against Swara.

In 2020, while talking about nepotism, Ranaut called Swara, 'a needy and a B grade' actress.

In the same interview with Connect Cine, when asked about their relationship falling apart, Swara said that it's hard to maintain a cordial relationship.

Swara said, “What is unfortunate is that sometimes, it is hard to even maintain a cordial relationship. But it’s okay. People say you lose friends over politics. But I saw a meme the other day that said that I have not lost friends over politics, I have lost friends over morals. And I like that a lot.”

“Because your politics reflects your morality, your principles. It shows your ethical value system. So, if I don’t respect your ethical value system, then how can we stay friends?”

In a situation like this, Swara said that it's better to stay away,“If you can justify and celebrate murder, then I can’t stay friends with you, as simple as that.''
