Sophie Turner calls the bluff on weight-loss ads, slams Ozempic

Sophie Turner doesn’t believe in quick weight loss magic and she is speaking out against weight-loss advertisements. Recently, the glamorous actress criticised Ozempic, the FDA-approved brand that is used to treat Type-2 diabetes but has become popular among people for helping people lose weight quickly. Ozempic includes the medical injectable of semaglutide.

The Game of Thrones actress shared a post on Instagram which read: "The Ozempic ads plastered across the Times Square subway station can f--k all the way off."

She was talking about the Ozempic ads that are brightly displayed in the US. One ad reads: "One shot to lose weight," while another reads, "A weekly shot to lose weight."

Sophie has previously spoken about struggling with weight issues herself. An year ago, she opened up about her body image struggles and said, "For a long time, I was quite sick with an eating disorder and I had a companion. It's a live-in therapist, who would ensure I wasn't doing anything unhealthy with my eating habits."

"One night, I was playing over and over in my mind a comment I'd seen on Instagram. I was like, 'I'm so fat, I'm so undesirable,' and spinning out,” she said. It was then that her therapist helped her get out of that mindset. "She said to me, 'You know, no one actually cares. I know you think this, but nobody else is thinking it. You're not that important’. That was the best thing anyone could have told me,” Sophie added.
