Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are now married! Check out their first photos as husband and wife

It's official! Sonakshi Sinha has finally tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend Zaheer Iqbal. The couple exchanged vowsunder the Special Marriage Act at Sonakshi’s Bandra home on Sunday.

While sharing photos from the wedding ceremony, Sonakshi wrote, "On this very day, seven years back (23.06.2017) in each others eyes, we saw love in its purest form and decided to hold on to it. Today that love has guided us through all the challenges and triumphs… leading up to this moment… where with the blessings of both our families and both our gods… we are now man and wife."

The ceremonies started with the Haldi and Mehendion June 20. Today, the couple reunited at the actress' Bandra home for a registered wedding. The official ceremony will be followed by a wedding party at Bastian, a popular celebrity hot spot in Mumbai. According to reports, the newlyweds will host over 1000 guests at the wedding reception.

Recently, their wedding invitation also went viral on social media, which resembles a magazine cover. According to the invite, the dress code for the night is "formal and festive, just don't wear red".

Renowned DJ Ganesh will handle the music for the couple's D-day. The party will go on till 4 in the morning.

Aditi Rao Hydari and her fiancé, actor Siddharth, Aayush Sharma and his wife Arpita Khan Sharma, Huma Qureshi and several other B-towners joined the couple for their special day.

Earlier, Zaheer's father, Iqbal Ratansi, confirmed that Sonakshi would not convert to Islam after the wedding. He told Free Press Journal, "She is not converting, and that is for sure. Theirs is a union of hearts, and religion has no role to play whatsoever. I believe in humanity. God is called Bhagwan by Hindus and Allah by Muslims. But at the end of the day, we are all human beings. My blessings are with Zaheer and Sonakshi."

Ahead of Sonakshi's wedding, her father Shatrughan Sinha quashed all rumours and reiterated that he supports his daughter's decision to marry her longtime beau. "44 years ago, Shatrughan Sinha married a very successful, very beautiful, very talented girl of his choice, Poonam Sinha. Now it is Sonakshi's turn to marry the boy of her choice," Shatrughan Sinha told Times Now.

On the movie front, Sonakshi was last seen in Double XL. Next, she will feature in Kakuda, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, under RSVP Movies. It also stars Riteish Deshmukh and Saqib Saleem.
