Even as Rajkumar Hirani's film 'Sanju' continues to dominate the box office, 'Panchjanya'- a magazine reportedly affiliated to the RSS has slammed the film and its makers for glorifying a 'criminal' like Sanjay Dutt.
According to a daily, in its latest cover story, the magazine accused the makers of glorifying the actor who has had a criminal background and links to the underworld.
"It is ironic that filmmakers in India are making movies on underworld dons like Dawood Ibrahim whereas Hollywood is producing movies on great Indian personalities like 'The Man Who Knew Infinity'based on the life of the great mathematician S Ramanujan," Panchjanya wrote in its cover story 'Kirdaar Daagdar' (tainted artist)
The magazine raised questions on several aspects of the film and accused Hirani of whitewashing Dutt's controversial life. The magazine also questions Dutt's strained relationship with daughter Trishala and criticised him for 'abandoning his cancer-stricken wife Richa Sharma'.
Interestingly, a few weeks back, BJP leader Nitin Gadkari had praised the film.
Featuring Ranbir Kapoor, 'Sanju' has already crossed Rs 200 crore mark and inching towards earning Rs 300 crores worldwide.
