One of the best thing about re-releasing films is that you get to see your favourite movies on the big screens. Amid the re-release of so many movies, the most recent film that movie lovers can see is Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama.

The anime film will hit the theatres in India on October 18, 2024. The film will be released in four languages - Hindi, English, Tamil and Telugu.

On Thursday (Sept 19), the makers, Geek Pictures India, made the big announcement by sharing a poster and a teaser.

In the caption of the post, they wrote, "A tale as old as time, and forever alive in every heart. Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama is coming to theatres across India in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and English on October 18! Teaser out now (sic)."

Soon after the announcement, netizens weren't able to contain their excitement for their beloved anime movie.

''Welcome home the most beautiful film on Ramayana. 🩵🐳,'' one user commented on the post.

Another wrote, ''CAN’T WAIT 😭 THIS MOVIE IS MY CHILDHOOD!''

Legendary screenwriter V Vijayendra Prasad, known for his filmslike Baahubali, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and RRR, has worked in theadaptation.

The 1992 film is one of the most loved on-screen adaptations of the Hindu epic Ramayana. The movie is set around the time when Prince Rama, along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshmana, leaves his home in Ayodhya to live in exile in the forest for 14 years. During their time in the jungle, Ravana, the king of Lanka, kidnapsSita, which leads to a battlebetween Ram and Ravana.

Arjun Aggarwal, the co-founder of Geek Pictures India, said, "The Ramayana in anime is a groundbreaking testament to the strength of Indo-Japan collaborations. This fresh, dynamic portrayal of the timeless legend of Ram will undoubtedly strike a chord with audiences across all regions and age groups, bringing this epic to life in a way that’s never been seen before."

The movie has been released in India Geek Pictures India, AA Films and Excel Entertainment.
