Ranbir Kapoor's 'Sanju' enters Rs 300 crore club, on way to becoming highest-grosser of 2018
'Sanju': Rajkumar Hirani to screen the film for Australian students
Directed by Rajkumar Hirani directorial, 'Sanju' is a biopic on Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt as Ranbir Kapoor essays his role in the film.
Ranbir Kapoor’s Sanju doesn’t know how to stop as the biopic on Sanjay Dutt’s life continues to rule the domestic market. The film has now entered the prestigious Rs 300 crore club as it is now on its way to beating Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat to become the highest-grosser of 2018.

Taran Adarsh tweeted: “Non-holiday... Non-festival release... #Sanju crosses ₹ 300 cr mark... Now eyeing the *lifetime biz* of #BajrangiBhaijaan, #TigerZindaHai and #PK... Nett BOC... India biz... ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTER.”
He also tweeted: “#Sanju benchmarks...Crossed ₹ 50 cr: Day 2, ₹ 100 cr: Day 3, ₹ 150 cr: Day 5, ₹ 200 cr: Day 7, ₹ 250 cr: Day 10, ₹ 300 cr: Day 16..India biz.”
Sanju is directed by Rajkumar Hirani and marks the first ever coming together of the actor-director. However, there are reports that the director is keen on working with Ranbir Kapoor in his films again.
The film also stars Paresh Rawal, Vicky Kaushal, Manisha Koirala, Dia Mirza, Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Jim Sarbh.
Sanju was earlier caught up in a controversy as the film was criticised by some factions for whitewashing Sanjay Dutt's image and portraying him as a man who made bad decisions but was not wrong in himself. Also, an RSS-affiliated magazineslammed Rajkumar Hirani for glorifying 'criminal' Sanjay Dutt in 'Sanju.
