Rajyavardhan Rathore with Karan Johar and Akshay Kumar

Union Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore met up with filmmaker Karan Johar and actor Akshay Kumar at the 49th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) on Tuesday.

During an impromptu Koffee With Karan session with Karan and Akshay, Rajyavardhan was questioned whether he would like a biopic made on his life and which actor would best suit him. This happened at the opening ceremony of the film festival.

Quick to think on his feet, Rajyavardhan replied: "I don't know about the actor, but I would certainly like to have Karan Johar as the director of the film.”

Karan asked Akshay the same thing, to which he replied with “Ranveer Singh” after an audience member promoted the young star's name.

When Johar asked the minister about winning awards, he said it reflected the adulation and the love of the people for him.

Akshay Kumar's film ‘Gold’, directed by Reema Kagti, is scheduled to have open-air screenings at IFFI.

The festival will be held till November 28 in Goa. It will give a hat-tip to the Khelo India initiative by recognising the contribution of Indian sportspersons. This section features a total of six Indian films that are based on the genre of sports biopics.
