In what can typically be called a meeting of politics and cinema, Rahul Gandhi met with Tamil director Ranjith and actor Kalaiyarasan for a discussion over “politics, films and society”.
In a fresh change from what we see our politicians in the country doing, Rahul was seen posing for a picture with the hit director Ranjith who has given several box office successes like “Madras”, “Kabali” and “Kaala”.
In a tweet, Rahul shared his happiness on meeting the director Ranjith and actor Kalaiyarasan. He tweeted: “I met film director P A Ranjith the man behind blockbuster films like 'Madras', 'Kabali'and 'Kaala'and actor Kalaiyarasan, in Delhi yesterday. We talked about politics, films and society. I enjoyed the interaction and look forward to continuing our dialogue.”
The trio met at Rahul’s Delhi residence.
The Tamil director, Ranjith made his directorial debut with a romantic comedy “Attakathi” before going on to make the political drama “Madras” and the Rajinikanth starrers “Kabali” and “Kaala”.
Kalaiyarasan is a Tamil actor who won accolades for his role in the film “Madras”.
