Los Angeles band X will be hanging their guitars after their final album and a scheduled tour in the US. The iconic punk rock band revealed that the upcoming album will be their last. It will be called Smoke & Fiction.

They also plan on touring the whole of the US and seeing their fans from a live stage for one final time. 

The band comprises four members, vocalist Exene Cervenka, vocalist/bassist John Doe, guitarist Billy Zoom and drummer DJ Bonebrake. They said in their announcement that the scheduled tour will be in support of their ninth and final album which will have 10 tracks. The new album will release on August 2 on Fat Possum Records. 

The first leg of the band’s farewell tour will begin in Kansas City, Missouri on July 6, and currently is scheduled to run to October 4, with a show at the Palladium Times Square, New York.

The band was formed in 1977. They released seven studio albums from 1980 to 1993. After a long break, X reunited in the early 2000s and continues to tour as of now.
