Poster of 'III Smoking Barrels', a multilingual film made on India's northeastern region is out

Poster of  'III Smoking Barrels', a film made on the Northeast released on August 18, 2018. Touted as India’s first truly multilingual film, as it will be showcased in at least six languages, will hit the theatres soon. 

The poster features a hard-hitting image of three different individuals -- a child, a young boy and a man, each one holding a gun in their hands. The film takes on important themes, rather problems that the Northeastern states of India face -- child trafficking, drug abuse and poaching.

'III Smoking Barrels’ is filmed across the Northeast and captures the breathtaking scenery of the region. 

It is directed by Sanjib Dey who has won the Best Narrative Feature Award at the 12th Mexico International Film Festival 2018 and was nominated for the Grand Newcomer Award at the 66th International Film Festival Mannheim-Heidelberg, Germany in 2017. He will be making his directorial debut with this film. 

The lead star cast features an ensemble cast of Indraneil Sengupta, Subrat Dutta, Shiny Gogoi, Siddharth Boro, Mandakini Goswami and Amrita Chattopadhyay.

Speaking on the film, Sanjib said, "The film is not just about one particular state but the whole of the Northeast. There has never been a feature film made wholesomely representing the special region which is a warehouse of 8 provinces, more than 200 dialects, huge ethnic diversities, rich natural resources and yet encompassed with many conflicts and hard-hitting issues. But the challenge lay in seamlessly accommodating them all in one film. It is one of the most exciting films of this year because it has the right vibe and some great music."

 'III Smoking Barrels' releases on September 21, 2018.
