49 years later, Paul McCartney recreates the iconic Abbey Road photograph of 'The Beatles'

One of the most iconic photographs of the 20th century is one that has Beatles crossing a road. The photo was the cover of their album 'Abbey Road'. The image, that had all the four band members simply crossing the road became one of the most circulated photos of the band- and later adorned walls of fans across the world as a poster.

49 years later, on Wednesday, one of the members of the band, Sir Paul Mc Cartney walked across the same street amid a cheering crowd.

The Abbey Road album was named after the crossing that leads to the Abbey Studios, London where the Beatles recorded their album.

On Tuesday, McCartney himself posted the video on his Instagram page, recreating the iconic photo almost five decades later.

In the video, McCartney crosses the street but stops in the middle to before walking across.

McCartney was at Abbey Road Studios for the promotion of his solo album Egypt Station where he even played a surprise set on Tuesday.
