Heavy-metal legend Ozzy Osbourne passed away on Tuesday morning, less than three weeks after he appeared with his band Black Sabbath for a farewell concert in Birmingham, England. Now, final photos of the legendary singer have surfaced online, which capture Osbourne in his element, performing on stage and posing for photos backstage.
Dubbed as Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne was photographed publicly for the last time during Black Sabbath farewell concert on July 5. The rocker had taken the stage seated on a throne, and performed for a 42000-strong audience at Villa Park.
The images that are now surfacing online show Osbourne sitting on stage in a black leather throne of sorts. He wroe a leather overcoat and gold armband bearing his name. He also flaunted his signature black eyeliner and long dark hair.
Ozzy also posed backstage with actor Jason Momoa, who hosted the show. In the image, Jason can be seen posing with Ozzy and his wife, Sharon Osbourne. Jason shared a picture from Ozzy’s last public appearance on Instagram while mourning the loss. He wrote, “Love you @ozzyosbourne. All my aloha @sharonosbourne and ohana. So grateful. RIP.”
The icon performed a five-song set by himself. He was later joined by his former bandmates Tony Iommi, Bill Ward and Geezer Butler on stage.
The rock legend died on Tuesday. The news of his demise was shared by his family in a statement that read as, ""It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis."
With a career spanning over five decades, Ozzy Osbourne heralded a new era in heavy metal. The rocker also gained fame with the MTV reality show The Osbournes, which followed the musician's chaotic life in Los Angeles with wife Sharon and their two kids- Kelly and Jack.
