
Bollywood actor Govinda was hospitalised in Mumbai on Tuesday (October 1) following an accidental gunshot wound at his residence. The incident occurred around 4:45 amwhen Govinda's licensed revolver discharged while he was putting it in a cupboard, as reported by Mumbai Police. The actor was preparing for a trip to Kolkata at the time.
Several Bollywood personalities, including film director David Dhawan, actor-producer Jackky Bhagnani, and actor Shatrughan Sinha, visited Govinda at CritCare Hospital in Mumbai. Govinda's daughter, Tina Ahuja, and Kashmera Shah, wife of Govinda's estranged nephew Krushna Abhishek, also came to see him.
Shatrughan Sinha informed the media that Govinda was in stable condition, emphasising that it was an accident, and that Govinda had received appropriate treatment.“He is stable, his condition is good...It was an accident. There are no ifs and buts in accidents...He received treatment.”
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde contacted Govinda by phone to inquire about his health and wish him a speedy recovery. The Chief Minister also instructed the hospital authorities to provide the best possible care tothe actor.
The CMO also issued a statement that read, “I contacted Govinda and inquired about his health. I wished him a speedy and complete recovery and a healthy life on behalf of the state government and the public.”
Govinda's manager, Shashi Sinha, told ANI that the bullet had been removed and the actor's condition was stable. A Mumbai Police official confirmed that while the injury wasn't serious, Govinda was kept in the hospital as a precautionary measure.

Govinda's brother, Kirti Kumar, updated the media on Tuesday (October 1), saying that Govinda was improving and in stable condition. He mentioned that Govinda would likely stay in the hospital for two to three days and thanked everyone for their good wishes.
