As everyone was getting ready for the big fight against Shigaraki and All For One in My Hero Academia season 7 Episode 3, Villain, Hagakure saw that Aoyama wasn't with them and noticed how melancholy he had been lately. After Hagakure persuaded Izuku to in with her, it became clear that Aoyama, who never had a quirk in the first place, was being made work for All For One in exchange for owning a quirk. 

Although everyone had sympathy for Aoyama, this didn't abate the fact that he had still committed a serious felony. Ironically, though, as they were going over the specifics of how Aoyama had gotten in touch with All For One, Midoriya discovered that Aoyama could really help them lure All For One so they could face him on their terms.
