With Tom Cruise fans gearing up for the release of his next film Mission: Impossible- Fallout, there’s news of the actors’ injury while shooting for the film adding to the budget of an already expensive movie. See the trailer here.
Cruise is known for his penchant for doing his action scenes and not opting for a body-double, however, this time, it costed him dearly as he hurt himself in the process. The budget skyrocketed when Cruise broke his foot while performing a dangerous stunt, which forced production to take an eight-week hiatus. His injury added Rs 550 crore to the final budget.
According to a report published in a Los Angeles-based website, the film’s final budget rose to a series high of $250 million (Rs 1700 crore), more than the previous record of $170 million (Rs 1100) for Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation.
Cruise was injured while jumping from one building to another. He said, “I knew instantly that I’d broken my foot,” after the incident. He, however, continued to shoot as he knew he wouldn’t be able to do another take.
The film's shooting schedule after the incident went haywire with Paramount being adamant on keeping the prime July release date.
Mission: Impossible- Fallout will release in India this Friday. Interestingly, it also has an Indian touch with shots of Kashmir and a mention of the Indian Army.
