Mani Ratnam complains of chest pain, rushed to hospital

Veteran filmmaker Mani Ratnam was admitted to the hospital on Thursday evening after he complained of chest pain. According to reports, the director is said to be stable now.

Mani Ratnam's PRO has stated that he visited the hospital for a regular health check-up. Hospital authorities also stated that the filmmaker was doing fine. "He had come to the hospital for a check-up. His condition is fine. He has not been admitted," the hospital official told a news agency. 

This isn't the first time that the director's health has caused concern for his fans. He had a heart attack in 2004 when he was filming Yuva (the Hindi version of Aayutha Ezhuthu).

In 2009 and 2015, the actor had complained of chest pain and subsequently recovered from it.

On the professional front, Mani Ratnam recently wrapped up the shooting of his upcoming film Chekka Chivantha Vaanam that has a massive star cast which includes actors like Simbu, Vijay Sethupathi, Arvind Swami, Arun Vijay, Jyothika, Aishwarya Rajesh, Aditi Rao Hydari and Dayana Erappa in the lead roles.
