On the occasion of International Dog Day, several actors like Abhay Verma, Pulkit Samrat and Danish Pratap Sood confessed their love for their paw-dorable friends. In interviews and social media posts, the celebs spoke about their undying love for their dogs and revealed how they have changed their lives for the better.
Actor Abhay Verma, who played a pivotal role inMunjya, opened up about his love for dogs and shared how adopting a pet changes your life. He said, "Joey (his dog) has brightened my life. Whenever I return from the shoot, he welcomes me with so much joy, it just takes away all the tiredness! And I make sure that I greet him with the same amount of delight, no matter what! I really can't fathom the bliss he has brought into my life; I really don't mind spoiling my little boy!"
He further shared, "When you adopt a pet, you turn into a parent by default! This joy knows no bounds, honestly."
Pulkit Samrat who is a proud pet parent of seven-year-old husky, Drogo, opened up about his love for his furry friend in a recent interview with HT. He said, "When I first saw him, he had that fierce energy and looked like a warrior, someone who can keep you safe. Although, he is a cow at heart."
"People who are scared of dogs in general have sat and pet him. He knows that people fall in love with him and he uses it to his advantage," the 40-year-old continued. "He loves his long walks and runs to play around, and that is the most peaceful time for me too."
Actor-singer Danish Pratap Sood revealed in a recent interview that his Delhi home has been "a favourite spot among strays, to get regular treats".
"My father is a doctor (general physician) and would help us take care of the dogs in our colony of Janakpuri, and all these strays would usually roam around and even park themselves around my house as my family would provide them food and medical attention, whenever required," the actor told HT City.
He added, "There was this one time when we had to take a stray to the doctor and it was administered a sedative, but the dosage of the drug turned out to be suitable for a human being! For the first four hours that dog was in a trance and ended up running everywhere. I was made responsible for monitoring him closely and can't forget how funny it was."
“I am against animal cruelty and really feel that people should not hurt them (animals)," he concluded.
Happy International Dog Day to all the pet parents and their furry friends!
