19-year-old Kaziah Liz Mejo from Kerala has won the title of Miss Universe India 2026. The winner was announced on Sunday at the grand finale in Jaipur. Read on to know more.
Kaziah Liz Mejo, 19, has been crowned Miss Universe India 2026. She emerged as the winner at the grand finale in Jaipur on August 23. Mejo is from Kerala, and she secured the national title after competing against 51 other finalists.
The finale saw contestants from across the country, with Vaishnavi Ganesh from Tamil Nadu finishing as the first runner-up and Anushri Satavlekar from Gujarat taking the second runner-up position. Meanwhile, Tejaswini Shrivastava of Maharashtra and Anubha Vashisht of Uttarakhand completed the Top 5.
Now, after becoming the winner, Mejo will go on to represent India at the 75th Miss Universe competition in Puerto Rico in November 2026.
Born in 2007, Kaziah Liz Mejo is from Mavelikkara in Alappuzha, Kerala. She is currently pursuing law studies in Bengaluru and is also working as a model. She is the daughter of Mejo Abraham and Suja Mejo and is currently based in Kochi.
She is a trained classical dancer and also plays violin and drums. In 2024, she won the Miss Teen Diva title and was subsequently named Miss Teen International India.
Earlier, she represented India at Miss Teen International 2025, where she finished as the first runner-up. This year, she also won the Miss Universe Kerala 2026 title, earning her a place in the national competition.
The Jaipur finale featured a jury with several former beauty queens. Sushmita Sen, who became India's first Miss Universe in 1994, was among the judges. The panel also featured Celina Jaitly, Miss Universe India 2001, and Urvashi Rautela, Miss Universe India 2015.
Other members of the jury included Miss Universe India 2024 Rhea Singha, filmmaker and producer Pragya Kapoor, Miss Charm 2025 Anna Blanco, dermatologist Dr Stuti Khare Shukla, and entrepreneur Vishal Ladhia.
