Fans got a brief glimpse of Kantara Chapter 1 on Monday as makers unveiled the film's first teaser, giving a sneak peek into the mayhem that will unfold on the big screen. The teaserof Kantara was unveiled on Monday hours after the film's official release date was announced.

The promo video, though minimalistic, grips you from the first frame and sets the tone straight for the story that precedes the events of Rishab Shetty's directorialKantarareleased in 2022.

The teaser opens with the words, “The moment has arrived; the divine forest whispers,” appearing in fiery text on a black screen.

In the background, a blurred image shows Shiva (Rishab Shetty) walking through the forest, carrying a torch. As he becomes encircled by fire, a commanding voice declares, “Light! Everything is visible in the light! But this is not light! It’s a vision! A vision that shows us what was, what is and what will be tomorrow! Can’t you see?” Amid the darkness, with light focused solely on him, Shiva’s face emerges. The teaser reveals that the story is set during the reign of the Kadamba dynasty.

Penned and helmed by Rishab Shetty himself, who earned the National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in the 2022 film, Kantara: Chapter 1 – A Legend will hit the screens on October 2, 2025.

The film has been produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films.Kantara Chapter 1 will be released in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, Bengali and English.

“Step into the sacred echoes of the past,” the production house noted on social media while sharing the promo video.
