Brace yourselves for the trailer of the biggest movie of the year, Kalki 2898AD. After a long wait, the first trailer of Prabhas and Deepika Padukone's sci-fi is here! Directed by Nag Ashwin, the dystopian sci-fi film is one of the most expensive Indian film ever made, with the budget of $72 million (approx), as per Variety.

This apocalyptic drama that is inspired by Hindu mythologies takes us in the year 2898. The movie brings together some of the biggest stars of the Indian film industry like Prabhas, Deepika, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan among others.

In the movie, Prabhas plays the role ofBhairava.

Bachchan is playing Ashwatthama, Padukone is Padma andHaasan is the main antoganist.

Released on Monday (June 10), the trailer of the highly anticipated filmtakes us into a sandy and arid worldwhere people are struggling to survive in a dire condition with noresources like water.

Later, we are introduced to the first and last city of the world Kashi,ruled by a set of peoplewhose only god is Supreme Yaskin. In the trailer further, we are introduced to intriuging character of Ashwatthama (Amitabh Bachchan), who has a duty to protect only one person, who is yet to be born.

As things get moremysterious, we see Padma (Deepika Padukone),pregnant with an extraordidarychild destinedtochange the fate of this world.

The trailer takes a 180-degree turn as we are introduced to Bhairava, the carefree soul, who has not lost a single fight in his life, has been tasked to bring back Padma. We also got a briefglimpse of Haasan's character.

With its larger-than-life landscapes, futuristic setting, mysterious characters, and robotic costumes, the trailer promises a cinematic experience, that Indian audience has never witnessed before.

Besides the lead cast, the movie also stars Disha Patani, Saswata Chatterjee, Brahmanandam, Pasupathy, Anna Ben, and Shobana.

The movie is inspired byHindu mythology and the story of Kalki,the 10th and final incarnation of Lord Vishnu, who will take the birth in the end of the Kali Yuga, the darkest time on the earth.

The film will release on June 27 in the Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and English.
