'It was insane': This Bollywood actor was at the Euros supporting Spain

The Euro Cup finals were played at Berlin’s Olympiastadion on Sunday (July 14), with Spain lifting the trophy after beating England. Euro is one of the biggest sporting events and grabs eyeballs from across the world. The stands were graced by celebrities from different walks of life, and there was one face representing India as well.
Actress Esha Gupta was at the game and was the only Bollywood actor to be invited. Speaking to Hindustan Times, Esha said that she has been following football for years and is glad that she got to represent Bollywood at the game. "They called me in the capacity of a Bollywood actor but someone who knows the sport, which makes it even better as I was surrounded by all the fans and the emotions were high," she said.
Being at the prestigious event meant that Esha got to meet several big names from the world of sports. She met former German footballer Sami Khedira, besides skiing world champion Aleksander Aamodt Kilde. One of the highlights of her time at the Euro finals was her meeting with the boy band Elevator Boys. She filmed a TikTok with the German band and supported Spain along with them.

"We were all together and they asked me for a TikTok. They are Germans and unfortunately, Germany wasn’t in the finals, but they were supporting Spain with me," Esha said.
Esha's Spanish connection
Talking about backing Spain, Esha said that it is her second home. “Spain has been the favourite of everyone this year as they played really well. Also, it’s my second home. The emotions were very high.” Notably, Esha is dating Spain-based businessman Manuel Campos Gualla.
Wearing red in a sea of whites wasn't easy for Esha and she recalls how things got pretty tense. "I think the England fans were ready to just fight. The amount of police that entered the stadium when England also scored and we were 1-1 was crazy," she said.
"This was an insane experience,” Esha said.
Esha's debut film Jannat 2 released in 2012 and it propelled her to fame. She is currently filming for Murder 4, whileDesi Magic is in the post-production stage. She had also signed Hera Pheri 3but it is delayed.
