
Knives Out 3 is rounding out its cast as makers announced that actors Josh O’Connor and Cailee Spaeny have been roped in. The sequel for the hugely popular whodunnit franchise is titled Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. The two will be joining Daniel Craig who has been a regular and plays the detective in the films.
Director Rian Johnson confirmed on X last week that Daniel Craig will reprise his role as Benoit Blanc in the next ensemble murder mystery film. In a 45-second video teaser video, he also revealed the sequel’s title to beWake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.
The writer-director also captioned the post: “The next Benoit Blanc mystery, the follow-up to Knives Out and Glass Onion, is called Wake Up Dead Man.”
After Rian made the announcement on X, Netflix also confirmed Daniel’s return to the Knives Out sequel. The OTT giant wrote, "That’s right, Daniel Craig is back as the suave Southern investigator in Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, a new instalment of the whodunnit franchise written and directed by Rian Johnson. Blanc will be unravelling a brand-new murder mystery in an as-yet-undisclosed setting, surrounded by a new colourful cast of suspects."
It’s also reported that production on the sequel is set to begin soon.
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery is set to debut on Netflix next year.
Meanwhile, Josh O’Connor was last seen in tennis drama Challengers, while Cailee Spaeny recently starred in Civil War.
