Keanu Reeves to be part of the voice cast of Sonic The Hedgehog 3: Reports

Keanu Reeves is shifting his focus to play newer characters. The actor who is known for his action thrillers, will now voice the character of Shadow in the upcoming film Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
He joins a cast that includes Ben Schwartz as Sonic, as well as Jim Carrey as the villainous Dr Robotnik.
According to a report in Variety, Shadow is an anthropomorphic hedgehog in the games and is an antihero of sorts to Sonic's character. Paramount is yet to confirm Keanu's inclusion in the cast.
Keanu has been part of some iconic films including Speed, Bram Stoker’s Dracula and My Own Private Idaho, as well as the Matrix franchise. He will next appear in the John Wick spinoff, Ballerina, opposite Ana de Armas.
Keanu will also co-star in Good Fortune alongside Aziz Ansari, Seth Rogen, Keke Palmer and Sandra Oh.
Jeff Fowler, who previously helmed the last two Sonicmovies, is returning as the director of the latest film. Sonic 3 will open in theatres on December 20, 2024.
Reeves’ casting in Sonic 3was first reported on The John Campea Show.
The franchise is one of Paramount’s most successful with the previous films earning a huge number at the box office. The combined global box office for Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was a whopping $725.2 million. The studio is also making a spin-off series, Knuckles, that will premiere on Paramount+.
