Bennifer 2.0 is over. After two years of marriage, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are moving on separately. For months, the couple has been courting rumours about their split as they continue living apart- on opposite sides of the United States.
Media reports state that Lopez has been enjoying her summer in the Hamptons, while Affleck has been out and about in Los Angeles.
The couple, according to sources, have not been on talking terms for a while. "They are not communicating right now," a source told Fox News. "If she wants to talk to his kids, she goes straight to the kids. Same with him."
Affleck did not attend Lopez's Lopez's luxurious "Bridgerton"-themed 55th birthday party on July 24.
"Ben didn't come to celebrate Jennifer's birthday because they are done," the source added. "Totally done. They are not getting back together."
Affleck instead bought a new $20.5 million home in Los Angeles. The same day, Lopez sold her New York City condo. The transactions came two weeks after the couple publicly listed their Beverly Hills estate for $68 million.
Rumours of the couple’s split began earlier this year when they hadn't been spotted together for 47 days. Since then, they have only been seen together on rare occasions, including school graduations for Affleck's children, Violet and Samuel.
Affleck shares three children, Violet, Seraphina and Samuel, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. Lopez shares twins, Max and Emme, with ex-husband Marc Anthony.
Affleck and Lopez were first engaged in 2002 after meeting on the set of a film Gigli, that they starred in together. Affleck proposed, and they were set to be married in 2004, but the wedding was called off at the last minute.
Two decades later, JLo and Affleck married in Las Vegas during a surprise wedding ceremony. A month later, they married again- this time in the presence of family and friends in the backyard of their Georgia mansion which Affleck had bought when the couple had started dating in 2002.
Lopez's twins and Affleck's three children were the only people who stood by their sides as they recited their vows.
