James Gunn wraps up Superman shoot, pens emotional note for his team 

James Gunn has wrapped up the shoot of one of the most anticipated films of 2025- Superman. The film will attempt to give DC Universe a fresh lease of life with a new face playing Superman. Actor David Corenswet is all set to play the caped superhero in Gunn's origin story of Superman.

The proud director shared the news of the film's wrap-up on social media with an appreciation for all those involved. The movie will premiere in theatres in the summer of 2025.

Gunn took to X and shared a photo of the cast of Superman from the sets and expressed gratitude towards everyone involved for their trust in his work and ideas.

In a heartfelt post on the micro-blogging site he wrote, "And that’s a wrap. God bless our cast and crew whose commitment, creativity, and hard work have brought this project to life. I set out to make a movie about a good man in a world that isn’t always so much. And the goodness and kindness and love I’ve encountered daily on the set has inspired me and thrust me forward when I felt too spent to move on my own."

He recalled how his journey on the sets of Superman was full of emotions and laughs. He shared the “magic” created on sets with the exchange of creative thoughts and ideas and wrote, "Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. It has been an honour. The destination has been Superman, but the journey has been the toil and the laughter and the emotions and ideas and magic we’ve shared on set — and for that, I am forever grateful."

The next Superman will feature David Corenswet as the new face of Man of Steel. Corenswet takes on the mantle of actor Henry Cavill. The new film will go back to the beginning and narrate Clark Kent's origin story.

Rachel Brosnahan will play the role of Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult will play Lex Luthor. The film will mark the first feature film after Gunn and Peter Safran joined DC as new bosses. Superman is set to release in theatres on July 11, 2025.
