Bruce Springsteen biopic: Jeremy Allen White aces in first look from film

Jeremy Allen White has transformed himself into Bruce Springsteen for an upcoming biopic on the singer. The Bear star will feature in and as Bruce Springsteen in biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere. The project is under production and the makers have revealed the first look featuring the actor.

The film is written and directed by Scott Cooper. The film, Deliver Me From Nowhere will be adapting Warren Zanes’ book of the same name about the making of Springsteen’s 1982 album Nebraska.

Filming is taking place primarily in Springsteen’s native New Jersey and New York, with additional production in Los Angeles.

According to a press release, Springsteen’s recording of Nebraska “marked a pivotal time in his life, one that he would only openly talk about decades after its release. It’s regarded as a landmark in his musical odyssey and a source of inspiration for a generation of artists and musicians. Recorded on a 4-track recorder in Springsteen’s New Jersey bedroom and without The E Street Band, ‘Nebraska’ is considered one of Springsteen’s most enduring works — a raw, haunted acoustic record populated by lost souls searching for a reason to believe.”

The biopic is tentatively slotted for release in theatres next year.

In addition to The Bear actor, Jeremy Allen White, the cast includes Stephen Graham as Springsteen’s dad, Paul Walter Hauser as guitar tech Mike Batlan and Odessa Young, who is rumoured to play a love interest.
