Get set for some kickass action as the Hollywood star features in Formula 1 film F1 which is backed by the Apple Original Films label. The racing film also stars Damson Idris.
F1 is about the character that Brad Pitt plays asFormula 1 racer Sonny Hayes, who partners with and mentors rookie teammate Joshua Pearce (Idris) on a fictional Formula 1 APXGP team. Javier Bardem plays the team boss.
Others in the film include Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia and Samson Kayo, who round out the cast for the racing film.
F1 promises to give its fans the authentic feel of being on a real and functional Formula 1 racing track. The filming for the movie took place at actual Formula 1 events, like last year’s British Grand Prix, the Rolex 24 at the Daytona Sportscar race this January and more.
Interestingly, it will also feature a snippet of the British Grand Prix that just took place. This was confirmed after the official Formula 1 account posted on X about the same.
The film F1 is directed by Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski. The film is produced by Brad Pitt, Formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton for his Dawn Appolo Films, Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman for Jerry Bruckheimer Films and Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner. The film is made in collaboration with Formula 1. Ehren Kruger, who worked with Kosinski on Top Gun: Maverick, wrote the screenplay.
At the moment, F1 is in talks for distribution in Warner Bros. Pictures internationally on June 25, 2025 and in North America on June 27, 2025.
