Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will not meet at Venice Film Festival thanks to organisers

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will not meet at Venice Film Festival thanks to organisers

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt

Organisers of the Venice International Film Festival are taking extra measures to ensure former couple Brad Pitt and Angeline Jolie do not cross paths. The two actors are at the festival currently to promote their respective movies.

In a recent interview, the festival's artistic director, Alberto Barbera, revealed that the event's schedule was carefully planned to prevent any overlap between the two stars' film premieres.

“Angelina will be on the first day, on Thursday (August29), and she will leave right after with Maria director Pablo Larraín” for the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado, Barbera said. “So Brad will arrive only on Saturday, in Venice. There is no way that they can cross each other at the Lido."

Lido is the famed island where the festival is held.

Interestingly, sources pointed out to Variety that the organisers were not asked by the two actors to space out their films.“Neither asked for that, they were wise enough to realize,” said the source.

Jolie arrived in Italy on Wednesday and will premiere her film Maria, which focuses on opera singer Maria Callas.Meanwhile, Pitt is scheduled to attend the premiere of his movie Wolfs on September 1. The film co-stars George Clooney.

Angelina Jolie-Brad Pitt divorce

The former couple have been embroiled in a long legal battle ever since Jolie filed for divorce in 2016.

Although their divorce is still unresolved, they are legally single and continue to dispute various issues, including the ownership of their renowned French winery, Château Miraval and child custody.

The rift has affected their six children, many of whom have even dropped Pitt's last name.

It was reported earlier this month that the Fight Club actor has "virtually no contact" with his adult children and has "limited visits" with his younger kids due to his busy filming schedule for his upcoming film F1.
