Superman actor Henry Cavill has been confirmed for Netflix drama series ‘The Witcher’.
Booked for eight episodes, the series is based on the best-selling fantasy book series by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. The book is an epic tale of fantasy and family. This is not the first time when 'The Witcher' short stories and novels are being adapted for a film adaptation.
Henry will play the central character of Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter who struggles to find his place in a tricky world. On his journey, he meets a powerful sorceress and a young princess with a dangerous secret. The three then have to learn to navigate safely.
Lauren Schmidt Hissrich will be the showrunner and exec produce alongside Alik Sakharov. Alik will direct four episodes, including the pilot. Alex Garcia Lopez and Charlotte Brandstrom will each direct two additional episodes.
Henry was previously seen in films like 'Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice', 'Justice League' and 'Man of Steel'. He will next be seen alongside Ben Kingsley in 'Nomis'.
