'Fanney Khan': Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan classic 'Yeh Jo Halka Halka' gets a club remix spin to it

Who would have thought that Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's classic 'Halka Halka Suroor' could have club remix version? But composer Amit Trivedi remixes the classic ghazal into a party song for Atul Manjrekar's film Fanney Khan.

Featuring Aishwarya Rai and Rajkummar Rao, the song shows the two uncanny characters coming close to each other and falling in love. The song is interspersed with shots of Aishwarya Rai singing to the camera, dressed in club wear and dancing. While there is no doubt on the fact that Aishwarya Rai looks a million bucks in the song, the remix sort of ruins the essence of the classic.

The new version was released on Saturday, and mixes Nusrat’s melody in Divya Kumar’s voice with heavy bass, a beat drop and new vocals sung by Sunidhi Chauhan.
