Producer Ekta Kapoor recently shared in an interview that she faced a tonnw of backlash after the release of her film Thank You For Coming and she worries how the audience will receive her next film LSD 2. For those unaware, Dibakar Banerjee is helming the sequel to his 2010 hit LSD: Love, Sex Aur Dhokha.
Speaking to Variety, Ekta said, "Thank You for Coming has left a very strange pain in my heart because of the kind of reception it got in India, vis-a-vis the reception it got overseas, I don’t know what happened. And the hate spamming we went through – our walls used to be spammed every day with hatred, because we attempted to discover and make a movie on female sexuality."
She added, "I can only imagine what’s gonna happen when LSD 2 comes. I think I’ll have to hide again.”
The 2023 film Thank You for Coming starred Bhumi Pednekar, Shehnaaz Gill, Dolly Singh, Kusha Kapila and Shibani Bedi and revolved around a woman entering her 30s who's never experienced an orgasm.

The makers of LSD 2 released the teaser of the film earlier this month. The 2.13-minute clip featured Mouni Roy, Swastika Mukherjee, Tushar Kapoor, Uorfi Javed, and Anu Malik in cameo roles. Dibakar sheds light on the new-age toxicity surrounding love and relationships in the age of the internet in the teaser.
The video starts with a warning that the content is only for adults who are above 18. Check it out below!
Before the release of the teaser, the director shared a video online to clarify that he was going to show the truth in the film, no matter how dark. He stated, "Making LSD and not showing the truth is not possible. So, while making LSD 2, we portrayed the same truth, an authentic picture of life that we see all around us. But, these days, instead of believing the truth, the fashion of ignoring the truth has increased. So, if you are in that fashion, then I can give you a disclaimer that you should not watch the LSD 2 teaser or trailer."
LSD 2 is all set to release on April 19.
