Johnny Depp fans who were disheartened after news of him leaving 'Pirates of the Caribbean'franchise came out will not believe how much the actor earned per film for his role as Jack Sparrow.

According to a new Forbes report, Disney will reportedly save $90 million per film after Johnny Depp is no more in the picture. The actor’s salary, including the profit percentage, reaches close to $100 million per Pirates film - that’s almost Rs 700 crore.

The studio is currently in the process of giving a reboot to the popular franchise.

It was clear in distancing itself from the troubled star who has been in a gamut of personal controversies -- including publicised split from wife Amber Heard, financial issues with managers and more.

Johnny Depp has not been seeing a very fruitful time at the box office as many of his recent films like ‘Mortdecai, Alice Through the Looking Glass’, ‘Transcendence’, ‘The Lone Ranger’ -- have been box office disappointments. His upcoming film, ‘City of Angels’, was shelved at the last minute due to disputes, and his appearance as the title character in ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’, was widely protested.
