‘The New Mutants’, ‘X-Men spin-off film is now slated to hit the theatres on August 28.

Disney made the announcement as they shifted the release dates from spring to August due to coronavirus pandemic affecting business and have shuttered cinema halls across the world. 

Directed by Josh Boone, ‘The New Mutants’ follows a group of young mutants trapped in a secret facility. It features Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, Alice Braga and Blu Hunt.

‘The New Mutants’ is based on the comic of the same name and was the first X-Men spin-off and released in 1982.

Shot in 2017, the film was originally supposed to arrive in theatres on April 13, 2018, before being pushed back 10 months to February 22, 2019. The release date was further pushed to August 2, 2019, with insiders suggesting reshoots would happen to tweak the film. Reports suggest that that never happened though.
