Wimbledon season is back! To attend the nail-biting matches, celebrities from around the world are currently in London. Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is also in the city for the tennis tournament, where heshared his special affection for the game.
Recalling his childhood days, Aamir revealed that he was a very good player in tennis. However, he chose to leave it.
Aamir's Connection With Tennis
At Wimbledon 2024, Aamir interacted with former tennis player and commentator Vijay Amritraj. During his chat, the Taare Zameen Par actor revealed that he used to play the game at a young age. “I don’t think I could have ever made it to any significant level but I really enjoyed the game so I had a lot of fun while playing it,'' he said.
Further, he revealed that he stopped playing the game after his father Tahir Hussain asked him to quit the sport.
''And then one fine day, my dad decided that I should stop playing so I stopped,” said Khan, adding, “Well, I think I am very happy where I am so yeah and good for tennis that I didn’t continue.”

This was Aamir's second time at Wimbledon. In 2023, he attended the Men’s Final with his children Junaid, Ira Khan and Azad. Calling it a ''wonderful experience'', he said, “Well, to be honest, I've been here only once to actually watch it live which was last year. I came with my kids and it was a wonderful experience, really wonderful experience and as I was saying earlier, up until now, I've watched it on television through Star Sports. And but when you watch it live, you realize just how fast the game is and how amazing the players are and the whole atmosphere, the excitement of watching it live is something else.”
What Aamir Khan is doing now?
After Khan's last releaseLaal Singh Chaddha failed to earn numbers at the box office, the actor took a break from acting. However, the acting powerhouse is back to work. He will next be seen in Sitaare Zameen Par.
Directed by RS Prasanna, the filming of the movie is done. However, no release date has been announcedyet.
