The 'Captain Marvel' trailer that was unveiled a few days back had fans excited for more reasons than one. Not only did it feature the superb Brie Larson in a new avatar but it also marked the first film from MCU with a female superhero.
While most gave the trailer a thumbs up, there were some who complained that Larson was not smiling in most part of the trailer. Many felt she appeared to be wooden - completely objectifying the actress. This is a common practice of harassing a woman implying that her emotions and appearance ought to be controlled and that she for the pleasure of others.
One person even went on to photoshop Larson's images with a fake smile plastered on it.
Larson had the perfect response to the tweet with a hilarious and accurate Instagram story. The story featured Marvel posters with smiles photoshopped onto the (male) heroes, perfectly highlighting the hypocrisy of her critics.
Superheroes looked incredibly creepy and out of character with the fake smiles as they went around saving the world.
Captain Marvel, one of the most anticipated films of present times, releases in March 2019.
